Striving for Clarity

The above image of mine sent me on a quest for information and in search of a process for better images. I want crisp, clean images. This weekend I experimented with lenses and cameras and shot several onion images, then compared the results.

What surfaced is: prime lenses are the best for sharpness. An old lens (105mm) performed better than my new 105mm macro lens, however the problem with the old lens is having to focus manually. The above image was taken with an AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm 2.8 VR lens.

Suggestion:
Check out your lenses to see which lenses give you the best results knowing landscapes require different lenses than a still life, or portraits.

Review your images and strive to be better.

Problems with Image Compression--Test

Have found pixels appearing in some of my images online, so am running some tests to correct that condition.

A Plan

Note to Self: Pull up images color and black and white. Transform them into sepia. Add the "magic"... the punch to make them pop.

This is my favorite medium. If feels great working in sepia and black and white.

Welcome

A hearty welcome is extended to those folks who found this journal while under construction. What a surprise to see followers so soon. How exciting is that?

Change of Seasons

Webs are fascinating--delicate yet strong. Dewdrops make this image nostalgic and perhaps sad.
